Chic Simplicity
Our hotel is about the experience, the human touch, the story behind. This transpires from everything we do – the decoration, the architecture, the ingredients we use, the people who work here, the way we receive our guests, the thousands of details. Much of this comes naturally. It is our identity, but also the identity of Picinguaba, of the people born in this village, and that of Brazil. More than anything, this is an attitude and the values we apply to everything we do. This often steers us deliberately away from the norms of the hotel industry. We favor a certain amateurism and try to do nearly everything ourselves, the artisanal way.
We believe luxury is simplicity. Our simplicity is not the contrary of wealth, nor the contrary of sophistication. Bringing something to its simplest reality can be a rather complex process. Our simplicity is an unpretentious attitude, naturally pleasurable things and real vibes that together generate authentic happiness. It is also reasonable prices for a high value, as a matter of honesty. This may not be a novel concept, but it is one to be permanently remembered and rediscovered. We try to keep ourselves true to this concept in everything we do. After all, when you want to give someone a real treat (and not just impress him), you do not invite him to a smart restaurant, but into your home. This is simply what we want to share with our guests.
The only thing that matters is that our guests feel extremely well. We propose a combination of comfort without extravagance (in keeping with where we are – an unbelievably preserved and inspiring nature), of true people, of incredible products we source ourselves, of the genuine exclusivity of just 10 rooms (which allows a personalised service that could not be achieved on a larger scale), and of a non-commercial attitude... while always leaving room for the unexpected and for life to express itself. We have found that the longer our guests stay, the more they experience this. And they come back for this.
We are all about hospitality, and we want to be a host that does not dictate the rules, that does not impose its presence or its style, so that there are never 2 days equal at Picinguaba and freedom can be enjoyed. We do not have televisions, phones in room or air-conditioning so that the richness of the place becomes more visible. After all, nobody comes here only to sleep.
